  1. When and why did you decide to be a writer?

I've always love to write. A couple of years ago, however, I got involved in fan fiction. I started to build a following and gained a lot of confidence in myself, so I began to take my own original stories and self-publish them.

  1. What has been the toughest criticism given to you as an author? What has been the best compliment?
The toughest would be criticism I think is when someone didn’t connect to one of my characters. Because ultimately that’s the goal. A connection, creating an emotional response that connects the reader to the story.
The best compliment I’ve had recently is someone told me my writing style was very fluid and clean. I liked that. Also, probably my grandmother. Her response after she read my book was an incredulous, “You wrote this, Sister?” That was awesome.

Do you have any advice for other writers?
I think the best advice is to re-read, to keep editing over and over again. To not rush. I tend to get impatient too, but taking your time to make the story the best it can be is really important.

  1. How many drafts did you have to write for Corollaria'? Any scenes that were cut from the original that you want to share?

I think I wrote about 8 drafts. The original was changed about 7 times by be adding and deleting major scenes. Although I probably edited it at least a million times after that too.

  1. What inspired the idea for 'Corollaria ?

Well, at the time, my daughter was obsessed with Tangled. I really liked the idea of a magical flower. Also, I had this one scene in my head (chapter 14). That was the first chapter I wrote. Everything else started to spring from there. I added a lot of Irish folklore and gave my characters names based on the meanings to go along with this.

  1. What was your favorite chapter (or part) to write in 'Corollaria and why?

I really enjoyed writing the building romance between Luke and Emily. It was emotional and intense from the very beginning. I also really loved writing Samuel.

  1. What is your favorite snack/treat or drink while writing?

Dr.Pepper. I cannot live without it.

  1. What are you currently reading?

I just finished Stay by Kelly Mooney. And I’ve been reading a lot of contemporary New Adult romance lately. Especially ones where the “hero” is something cool and/or famous. Like a MMA fighter or a singer or rock star or football player.

  1. Who is your fictional character crush?

Will Herondale.

  1. Tweet alert!! Tell us about Corollaria in 140 words or less?

Action-packed, full of romance, dark and sexy, it’ll make you swoon, make your heart race, your palms sweat and leave you breathless and wanting more!

  1. Do you have anything specific that you want to say to your readers?

Thank you so much for reading and reviewing! Indie authors love hearing from the readers!
