The Devil’s Tattoo by Nicole R. Taylor
Publication date: September 1st 2013
Genre: Contemporary Romance 18+
Synopsis:
Zoe Granger picked up her first guitar the day her heart was smashed into a billion pieces. It was a way to keep her mind off her inevitable downward spiral, but music soon became her escape. She's been burned too many times to tell and is just happy to coast through life, never putting herself out there. That's until her best friend Dee suggests they start a band and suddenly she finds herself not just a part of it, but fronting the whole outfit.
They call themselves The Devil's Tattoo and when they release their debut EP, it rockets to the top of the charts and it's like an overnight fairytale. Contracts, photo shoots, royalties and interviews are heaped onto the shy Zoe and it's like she's finally found her place. Then comes the phone call that changes everything. They've been asked to co-headline a tour with one of the hottest bands of the moment, The Stabs and Zoe will never be the same again.
Will Strickland is one fourth of the hottest indie rock band to ever grace the airwaves. He's the bass player in The Stabs, hot as hell and could have his pick of any girl that flings herself at him. But he's only got eyes for Zoe and she has no idea why he'd bother. She's got one hell of a trust issue and an attitude to boot and Will seems to be the one who wants to tame her, but is he game enough?
The Devil's Tattoo and The Stabs go on the road and it's either going to be a highway to hell or a stairway to heaven. Only time will tell who will come out on top and Zoe's determined to do it without getting her heart broken… again.

Here are My Thoughts on The Devil's Tattoo:
Pros/What I liked:
[So I normally don't break my reviews down but I thought I would with The Devil's Tattoo so it would explain why I gave it 4 stars and not 5. ]
Nicole's Writing: I really like the authors writing, it was easy, straightforward and I found myself engrossed in the story. I didn't have any problem reading this book and will probably pick up more book from Nicole just based on her writing.
The Story: For the most part I enjoyed the story. I think it was a fun take on the whole rock star love story. In this story we follow two main characters (zoey and will) as they are brought together and find their true happiness in each other with the struggles of breaking free of their past along the way.
I definitely loved Dee ( zoey's best friend and band mate) I can't wait to read his story [ which comes out next in the series-The Fire Walker- December 2013] Zoey and Will are sweet together especially when they write songs together :P but it seems the past was holding them back which brings me to
Cons/What I disliked:
Will's Past: Okay what happen to Will in his Past was sad and heartbreaking but I was kind of expecting a little more with his past. He seemed so completely broken and it just seem his past was a bigger problem then what it ended up being. I do have to stay that even though I disliked the fact it wasn't as big as it seem it was going to be it actually stayed well with the story and it still flowed along in the story.
The Ending: Of course I hate the ending because it ended! I'm happy how it ended because it was sweet what Will did for Zoey but now I'm curious to what will be happening to Zoey and Will..Are we going to see them in Dee's book? Will find out more about them later? It's killing me :P Maybe they can have another book all to themselves.
All in all I really enjoyed The Devil's Tattoo! I can't wait for more books to read from Nicole! Would I recommend The Devil's Tattoo to others? Absolutely! It's a wonderful read, it's worth a deeper look beyond the beautiful cover. Must Read!!
