{{3T}} Review x2: MARRIAGE PACT & REGRETS ONLY by M.J. PULLEN

Title: The Marriage Pact
Author: M.J. Pullen
Published: June 11th 2011
Genre: Adult Contemporary Romance

Marci Thompson always knew what life would be like by her 30th birthday. A large but cozy suburban home shared with a charming husband and two brilliant children. A celebrated career as an established writer, complete with wall-to-wall mahogany shelves and a summer book tour. A life full of adventure with her friends and family by her side. Instead, Marci lives alone in 480 square feet of converted motel space next to a punk rock band, hundreds of miles from her friends and family. She works in a temporary accounting assignment that has somehow stretched from two weeks into nine months. And the only bright spot in her life, not to mention the only sex she's had in two years, is an illicit affair with her married boss, Doug. Thirty is not at all what it is cracked up to be. Then the reappearance of a cocktail napkin she hasn't seen in a decade opens a long-forgotten door, and Marci's life gets complicated, fast. The lines between right and wrong, fantasy and reality, heartache and happiness are all about to get very blurry, as Marci faces the most difficult choices of her life.

(* I was give ecopies of both Marriage Pact and Regret Only by the author in exchange for an honest review. I'm not a Paid reviewer. All thought here are my own*)

Marriage Pact Review:
The Marriage Pact is told in third person as we mainly follow a woman named Marci as she struggles to find herself, true love and a place where she feels wanted. Which leads to her having an affair with a Married Man, her boss to be exact. Which leads to what she sees as love. Through this all she is struggling to find happiness in the drama of being with a married man. Once things end with her boss she finds herself back in her home town, having her friends being up a Pact that was made ten years ago. The pact was a marriage pact. Promising one person to marry the other if still single by thirty.

I had a hard time at the beginning with this book. I struggled a little to connect with the characters but as I stuck with it I started to really like Marci and I became a fan of who she ends up with. I think the reason I had a hard time at first was because of the cheating with a married man drama. I do however think it was a necessary part to the plot and story to move along. By the end of The Marriage Pact I was extremely happy and found the ending very sweet. I will say The Marriage Pact kept my attention enough for me to WANT to read more by M.J. Which lead me to read the second book in this series ( which are stand alone books)

All in all I really enjoyed The Marriage Pact. I would recommend it to Adult Contemporary Romance Stories. I give this one 4 out 5 starts.

Regrets Only Review:
I FREAKING LOVED Regrets Only. I did enjoyed The Marriage Pact ( book #1) but I have to be honest here and tell you I love/enjoyed Regrets Only a lot more! I immediately thought of a song with this book and that really never happens for me. I don't normally think of songs or listen to music as I read but I think this song pretty much sums up suzanne's relationship with Dylan ...
Arms by Christina Perri

If you like the song Arms you will love Regrets Only too. But lets not base you liking it off the song because Regrets Only is an amazing read.

Like The Marriage Pact, Regrets Only is told in 3rd person main following a woman named Suzanne as she finds herself humiliate and trying to rebuild her business after a mishap at one of the events she was in charge of. Along the way she learns things about herself that needs to change. She learns she need to start caring more about others feelings and not just her own. I find Suzanne is a fun character especially when she is with Dylan..sexy Dylan..sigh :) He is a swoon worthy guy. I loved that this book had details about the main characters in the first book. It answer questions I had about what happen next to Marci and Jake. So Sweet! I hope in the third book M.J could add more details about Suzanne and Dylan, I would love to see what happens to them :)

All in all I really enjoyed Regrets Only. I definitely would recommend this read! I give Regrets Only 5 out of 5 stars!!
