Jaime grew up in a small town in Northern California. Having a passion for dance and music, she never would have thought herself to become an author.
In late 2008, Jaime found the pieces of her novel beginning to take form and a story was born. Soon she had a full novel in her hands and a writer was developed. Awaken is Jaime's first published novel. With many features still in the works, this debut novel is just a taste of the action-packed romantic thrillers to come from this aspiring new author.
Jaime now lives in Nevada with her husband and three boys. Loving life, and living a dream.

So Awaken was an awesome read! When I first read the synopsis on Shane's (http://itchingforbooks.blogspot.com) blog for this tour I knew I was going to like it. The title actually caught my attention first. It is a beautiful cover. I have a bad habit of judging a book by it's cover. I tend to gravitate more to the pretty cover. Awaken cover certainly dragged me in. I'm extremely glad that the book was a good read in order to match it's cover.
Now on to the inside of the cover...lets move on to the story :)
Create a picture in your mind, imagine if you were able to see future 'accident' events and have the possibly of stopping those events or being to late to stop them. Can you imagine if your were able to stop someone you love from dying? or how about not being able to stop it? How would you feel with that kind of power. ( confused, hurt, lost?) That is life for the main character of AWAKEN. Her name is Breanna but goes by "Bre" (which I think is super cute nickname!) Bre is your typical teen. She has a boyfriend, a best friend and a whole boat of high school drama. But when you add weird vision/dreams to the mix, her life gets a little more complex. Throughout the story she is confused and doesn't know what is happening until one event changed her prospective about her dream/vision. She finally realizes that they aren't just dream or vision. They are future events that are going to happen.
When her first vision turns out to be true she tries her hardest to make sure nothing else will happen to the people involved. Seems like an easy enough when you are having visions of the people involved. Only one problem and that is visions come in pieces, which make it hard to tell who is in her vision. So it is pretty hard to save someone when you aren't sure who it is you need to save.
Now lets talk BOYS! :) So in the beginning there is Josh- Football Star, Good looking- enough said right? Wrong! He turns out to be a controlling jerk. *sad day* :( No worries though because then comes in Austin- A charmer with blond hair- Yum right? Well yes if it weren't for Bre's dream boy who may not exist. Collin- Now Collin is all around sexy. Dark hair, blue eyes, and plays guitar. Hot right? umm yes! :) Well if only she was about to have more real life time with Collin then maybe her vision/life wouldn't suck so much. I'm torn with wanting to be all for team Austin or team Collin. I wasn't feeling the love connection with Austin as I was with Collin and Bre. Like Bre said Austin is like a brother. I don't know I guess I will have to wait for more twists and turns of book #2 to finally know which team i'm truly on. :)
Speaking of book 2, the ending in Awaken..Oh my! left me speechless. I can't believe Jaime would leave us with such a cruel cliff hanger like that. Ahh I am impatiently waiting for book number 2! For an all over review of AWAKEN, I really enjoyed it and would recommend it to any YA reader.
