Title: Going Nowhere
Author: K.M.Galvin
Released: January 7th 2014

Marisol Finnegan has done everything right to ensure that when she graduated college she'd have the kickass life she always wanted. That's what we're told right? A + B = C? Yeah, well sometimes C is being a twenty-four year old virgin moving home with your parents.

So not ideal.

Before entering this tragically pathetic phase of her life, Marisol stops at a bar for a drink. It's here where her life really changes when she meets her catalyst...Jason Scott.

After everything you've ever done has backfired and you no longer trust yourself how are you able to navigate a relationship? How do you even begin to love yourself let alone someone else?

**Recommended for readers 18+ due to sexual situations and language.

When and why did you decide to be a writer?

I always knew I was going to do this, it was just a question of when. Before self-publishing, I was under the impression that becoming an author was something you did after you had a career. I never dreamed I could write and publish a book by 24! As far as knowing that I should write, when I was younger I used to play this game with my siblings and friends where I made up stories about all the past lives they lived. I loved making up stories, but it wasn’t until my 11th grade English teacher that I thought I was any good. We had an assignment to rewrite the ending of The Great Gatsby (freaking awesome right?) and I got really into it. She asked to keep it and told me that I should really look into developing my talent and here we are!
What has been the toughest criticism given to you as an author? What has been the best compliment?
Ah! This is tough! Ok to be bluntly honest, I’ve heard that my writing is generic and nothing special. I would answer those people with the second part of this question. The best compliment is when people relate to Marisol’s struggle or to any of the characters. It’s the greatest feeling in the world because it means that my goal in writing with as much reality as I can has been achieved. I’m not saying don’t listen to criticism because it can be incredibly constructive and challenges you as a writer to be better, but you have to trust yourself too.
Do you have any advice for other writers?
YAAAS! Ok so I’ve learned a lot from this process and from other authors. The number one thing I can say is do not let that blank page stop you. Write. Even if it’s the shittiest thing you will ever write. Get. It. Down. Because honestly, guys, it’s much easier to work with something than nothing.
How many drafts did you have to write for Going Nowhere ? Any scenes that were cut from the original that you want to share?
I wrote one total draft for GN and then it was a one way ticket to Editville. There were a few scenes cut: not because they were crappy, but mostly because they didn’t add anything to the story. I’ll probably be sharing one in particular the closer we get to the release of book 2.

What inspired the idea for Going Nowhere ?

GN is heavily based in reality; my reality and my friends. All the emotions that Marisol experienced after graduating? Yeah, that was my friends and I. I moved home with my parents and worked some odd jobs, even as a nanny (although my family was not as cool as the Scotts!). I just felt that life after college was not accurately portrayed in books or in other types of media and I was tired of feeling inadequate because I couldn’t find something relatable. I wanted people who were going through the same thing to not feel so alone because it can be incredible isolating and I wanted to give them a voice.
What was your favorite chapter (or part) to write in ' Going Nowhere and why?
Holy crap I LOVE the fight scene on the side of the road when they’re on their way to St. Augustine. You have to understand. I know pretty much nothing when I sit down to write. Not even dialogue. Also when I sit and write I go off into LaLa Land so when I read that scene back I was laughing my ass off. I love how they fight, I love how she calls him out and then gets pissed because he’s cute. Oh! I also love the scene when they come back from walking around all day at the festival and she see’s herself, how sunburned she is and has a meltdown because she is trying to be sexy and is failing. LOL! Oh, Marisol.

What is your favorite snack/treat or drink while writing?

Coffee. The amount of coffee I drink could power an entire office building. It’s baaaad.

What are you currently reading?
I’m reading Becoming Alpha by Aileen Erin and it’s awwwweeeesommmme!
Who is your fictional character crush?
Crush is such a timid word for the lust I feel for Jackson Devereaux of the Poison Princess series. Oh my Lawd, you Cajun beast! Rawr!
Do you have anything specific that you want to say to your readers?

THANK YOU! Honestly, peeps, just the fact you even read it means so much to me. Whether you loved it or hated it, thanks for giving me your time and letting me tell you a story.
