Forgive Me was a charming, lovable, heartbreaking and all around great story. There were moments when I laughed and other times when I almost cried. It filled me with all emotions. Ashley did a wonderful job writing her characters. I instantly like all of them.
Forgive Me is told in the POV of the main character Lexi who has struggled in life trying to be the best mother she could be to her son. She is so young herself, it seems she never had a chance to do the normal things like other teens did. She had to finish school online, never partied, and didn't even take time for herself. With all this there were a few problems that she has straighten out. One being she has to tell Zander the he is a Father..No biggy right? After almost 10 years away from her home in Texas she and her son take a trip down there to fix the problem, to mend the broken and to learn to forgive and be forgiven. Zander was the only one she has ever loved and when she finds out he is engaged she is heartbroken but knows there isnt much to do. As they reconnect heated moments come about and they both realize their love has never die. Zander struggles a little to grasp the fact that he is a father to Justin. Once he opens up his heart more to him it was amazingly sweet! I found their relationship to be a great bond between father and son. The story flowed well although at times it was hard to tell how much time had passed it seemed kind of jumping all over the place towards the end.. kind of like Ashley was in a hurry to get it all in but again this may be because I was reading an ARC which tend to be a little out of wacky before the finished product. Even though the timeline was a little screwy it didnt take away from the story. I freaking LOVED the ending and how everything turns out. After hardships and tough times, almost everyone seem to get their happily ever after...Although I would like to know what happened to Emerson, because she didnt put up much of a fight when thing came crashing down around her. I thought of all things she would have started a fight or something with Lexi. I also would like to see stories on Bray or Tanner. I think they would be great stories.
All in all I'm giving Forgive Me a 4.7ish rating so I just rounded it up to 5 stars because really it was a great book. Will I recommend this read? Why yes I would! To all those who enjoy a good New Adult Romance/Drama filled read would enjoy this one! Ashley is a wonderful writer whose work is well written and for the most part easy to read/understand. I will be picking up more of her books very soon!!
