How To Say Goodbye by Amber Lin
Publication date: April 7th 2014
Genres: Contemporary, New Adult, Romance
Synopsis:
Amy has a secret: no one has ever held her hand. She doesn’t even know how to hug. Everybody thinks she’s brilliant, but that’s because school was all she had. Then she meets Dane, a golden-haired surfer whose easy charm and hot touch teach her what she longs to know.
Dane lives for the salty breeze and a sweet wave, because that’s all he has. He’s lived on the streets since he was fourteen. A drifter. Homeless. But Amy changes everything. Smart and accomplished, she’s everything he’s not. He wants to be the sort of man who deserves her.
Except that means facing down his past—and that past might very well swallow them both.

Where to Purchase:
(*I received a copy for the tour. I'm not a paid reviewer and all thoughts expressed are my own*)
How To Say Goodbye was an good story about learning how to say goodbye to the past that holds you back from moving on with your future. I give it a low 4 out of 5 stars. It was a good story but was missing a little oomph to bump it up to a higher star rating for me but no matter the star rating I still enjoyed this read.
How To Say Goodbye was told in the POV of third person, it portrayed and followed both main characters; Dane and Amy. So you were somewhat able to follow each of Dane and Amy's thoughts and actions. I think this was my main problem with the all over book. For me it was hard to connect with Amy and Dane fully as they told their story in third person. I enjoyed the all over story and how everything played out. Don't get me wrong the writing wasn't bad it was just hard for me to focus and connect with because I have a hard time with third person sometime. Please don't let this sway you in anyway because maybe for you it's easy understand or you like third person. As for the actually story it was a sweet, charming, and at time emotional read. Dane always had the sweetest lines that made you heart melt time and time again...
"I've always seen you. I can't stop seeing you."
-Dane How To Say Goodbye
When Dane and Amy are together they have moments that were very sweet. In all honesty despite what I said about my problem with third person Dane and Amy were still good characters.
' "No argument here. You're the boss today, remember?" That made her smile.
"And tomorrow?"
"And the next day and the next, until you decide to fire me.'
"What if I don't ever?" He faced her solemnly
"Then I'd be yours to keep." '
-Amy & Dane How To Say Goodbye
See Dane is so sweet..
All in all I did enjoy How To Say Goodbye and would recommend it to those who enjoy New Adult Romance. This is a read to give a try.
