SUMMARY:
The
past will always find you.
Jos
Archer was the girl with the perfect life; until the night it all
came crashing down around her. Now, nine months later, she still
hasn't begun to pick up the pieces. Even transferring to a new
college and living under the watchful eye of her older sister, Renee,
isn't enough to help her feel normal again.
And
then she meets Dusty Sharp. For reasons Jos can't begin to fathom,
the newly reformed campus bad boy seems determined to draw her out of
her shell. And if she's not careful, his knowing green eyes and
wicked smile will make her feel things she's no longer sure she
deserves.
But
even as Dusty coaxes Jos to open up about the past, he's hiding
secrets of his own. Secrets about the night her old life fell apart.
When the truth is finally revealed, will it bring them closer
together;or tear them apart for good?

I was lucky enough to get a ARC ecopy of My Sweetest Escape. I absolutely loved it! In my opinion you can never go wrong picking up one of Chelsea Cameron's books. This book happens to be the 2nd book in the series but are based on different characters. With that said I have yet to have the opportunity to read the first book in the series ( My Favorite Mistake) and having only read the second book I found it can be read as a stand alone book. You can be completely satisfied with how the book plays out and not be confused and wonder what had happened in the first book. Sure for me now I am dying to get my hands on the first book because I want to know what happened in the first book. I really like Chelsea's form of writing. It tend to be simple, easy to process and very enjoyable.
My Sweetest Escape is told in the POV of a girl name 'Jos'. We follow her as she learns that life isn't always easy and that you need to 'Live the day' Meaning take one day at a time and enjoy life. She started to go down a path she thought meant living and got into a little trouble. Which ended up with her having to go live with her sister. That is where she meets the ever charming Dusty Sharp. sweet sweet Dusty..Dusty Starts to try and break down Jos's walls. Slowly he breaks through but his efforts are almost shattered by a secret. After one secret is share it seem things go well for the both of them until a deeper secret that hold Jos back from truly bring her walls down surfaces. After all is said and done they seem to realize that only living in the now and not dwell on the past or future is how they can truly be happy. I personally found Jos to be a awesome character, I love when she and Dusty tease/banter with each other. Their remarks flowed well together. I found I connected well with most if not all the characters in this book. I hope to see more in this series. I know I'm doing it backwards but I can't wait to read book 1 (My Favorite Mistake) in this series.
As for My Sweetest Escape I really enjoyed it and was happy how it played out. It was a fun, fast, romantic, charming, and very sweet read. I would definitely recommend it and will be picking up more of Chelsea's books soon!
